SEWER SYSTEMS

W-Series | WH231 & WR231 ("SQUAT") Grinder Pump Station

Open wetwell grinder pump station for low pressure sewer systems

Featuring the E/One Extreme grinder pump, the WH231/WR231 offers a high level of reliability and ruggedness. The lower portion of the tank has a smaller diameter, tapered down to a dish-shaped bottom. These design features reduce the retained volume and promote scouring, which will minimize odor and corrosiveness.

Features

E/One's WH231/WR231 grinder pump station consists of a pump inside an open wetwell tank. The grinder pump, motor controls and level-sensing are integrated into a compact unit, easily removable for service.

The WH231 is the “hardwired,” or “wired,” model where a cable connects the motor controls to the level controls through watertight penetrations.
The WR231 is the “radio frequency identification” (RFID), or “wireless,” model that uses wireless technology to communicate between the level controls and the motor controls.

Solids are ground into fine particles that pass easily through the pump, check valve and small-diameter pipe lines — even objects that are not normally found in sewage, such as plastic, rubber, fiber, wood, etc. The 1-1/4" discharge connection can be adapted to any piping materials that meet local code requirements.

The tank is made of tough corrosion-resistant polyethylene. Designed specifically for low pressure sewer applications, the optimum tank capacity of 237 gallons provides ample storage. A single WH231/WR231 can accommodate flows of up to 850 gallons per day.

The grinder pump is automatically activated and runs for very short periods. Electrical consumption of the grinder pump is low -- a household that uses 250 gallons of water per day should use less than 10 kwhr per month to run the pump. (Actual water and power usage will vary.)

The internal check valve assembly, located in the grinder pump, is custom designed for non-clog, trouble-free operation.
