Faster installations not only expedite community establishment but also provide quicker returns on investment for developers, making E/One Sewer Systems a smart choice for efficient and cost-effective infrastructure solutions.
Making Land Acquisition Easier
High Water Tables
Excessive groundwater can complicate and increase costs for traditional sewer and drainage systems. E/One’s Sewer System uses sealed, pressurized, small-diameter pipes that are directionally drilled in shallow trenches, seamlessly following the land's natural contours.
Rocky Terrain
Excavation in rocky areas is expensive and time-consuming. Installing E/One’s pressure sewer system requires only 2–4” piping placed no deeper than the frostline, eliminating the need for deep trenches and extensive excavation.
Steep Slopes
Sloped land can make gravity sewer systems inefficient or impossible to install. E/One pressure sewer systems operate without the need for pitch, simplifying grade, fill, and finished slope processes.
Poor Soil Conditions
Unstable or unsuitable soil increases foundation and utility installation costs. An E/One Sewer System prevents inflow and infiltration, a common issue in gravity sewer systems caused by soft or unstable soil conditions.
Remote Areas
Lack of existing infrastructure – water, sewer, and power – adds significant costs to extend these essential services. The E/One Sewer System can pump wastewater over long distances and uphill, removing the need for lift stations.
Improved Project Implementation and Permitting Process
E/One's pressure sewer system is less disruptive than gravity sewer systems to existing ecosystems, simplifying environmental permitting and enabling smoother operations in remote or environmentally sensitive areas. Leveraging trenchless technology minimizes challenges with local governing bodies, creating a more streamlined path from planning to execution.
- Minimal Environmental Disruptions
- Simplified Permitting Process
- Easier to Meet Regulatory Compliance
- Allows for Flexibility
How the E/One Pressure Sewer System Works
- An E/One grinder pump appliance, installed at each property, accepts gravity-fed wastewater from each dwelling.
- After being macerated, the wastewater slurry is pumped through a sealed small-diameter pipe network installed just below the ground’s surface or frost line.
- Following the natural contour of the land and because the output is pressurized, the wastewater can be transported horizontally over two miles or 185 feet vertically, potentially eliminating lift stations.
- Ultimately the pipe network will discharge into a manhole, existing lift station, pressure main, or directly into a wastewater treatment plant.
Setting The Standard
As the inventor and leader in pressure sewer technology, E/One has been setting the standard for what’s possible in the industry for more than 55 years. At the core of our system is the E/One grinder pump, installed at each property, providing unparalleled flexibility and reliability for developers, engineers, and communities alike.
The E/One System
We've perfected the most-rugged, longest-lasting sewer system in the industry. This economical and highly reliable central sewer system can be installed on any terrain - flat, wet, rocky, even on sites with dramatic elevation changes.
Sustainability is Key
Enhance Individual Lot and Overall Community Value with E/One
E/One's pressure sewer system offers unparalleled flexibility in lot development, allowing for optimized designs that maximize space, site-lines, and usability. For homeowners, the absence of large sewer infrastructure on individual lots translates into enhanced property aesthetics and functionality. At the community level, developers can create cohesive, higher-value neighborhoods with a focus on sustainable and modern infrastructure solutions.
The integration of a pressure sewer system creates a forward-thinking infrastructure solution that balances practicality with innovation.

How to Maximize Development Efficiency
Pressure sewer systems remove the dependence on gravity flow by utilizing pumps to transport wastewater. This innovative design allows for small diameter, flexible pipe placement that isn’t restricted by elevation changes or ground conditions. Pipes can be laid in shallow trenches, around obstacles, or even uphill, significantly reducing the need for large-scale grading or excavation.
By simplifying grading requirements, developers can avoid costly equipment rentals, reduce labor hours, and minimize environmental disruption. Additionally, less grading translates to less material handling and disposal, further lowering project costs. For projects located in environmentally sensitive areas or on sites with restrictive zoning regulations, E/One Sewer System offers a practical solution to overcome terrain challenges without compromising design integrity or compliance.
Integrating pressure sewer systems into developments can significantly streamline stormwater management planning. By reducing the reliance on complex grading and alignment, storm plans can be simplified, allowing developers to focus on optimizing land value and density, and reducing permitting hurdles.
In areas with high groundwater levels, traditional sewer installations demand extensive dewatering measures, driving up costs and project timelines. Pressure sewer systems are installed with directional boring and can eliminate the need for open-cut techniques.
Manholes, which are required for gravity sewer systems, contribute to higher construction and maintenance costs. Pressure sewer systems eliminate the need for manholes.
By implementing modern pressure sewer systems, developers can significantly reduce or eliminate the need for costly Pump & Haul operations during the early stages of development. These systems streamline infrastructure development by reducing impact on existing landscape, mitigating PnH planning and implementation costs.
