E/One Chosen for U.S. State Department's Earth Day Observation

WASHINGTON, 20 April 2004 - Environment One Corporation staff will be on hand this Thursday (22 April) in Washington, D.C., for the U.S. Department of State's 2004 Earth Day Celebration. Entitled "Improving Our World Together," the program will feature American-made, environment-friendly products and services for overseas markets, and will advocate Earth Day values and corporate responsibility.

Philip Welsh, E/One's president, said, "we are honored to have been selected to share in the Department's activities in support of Earth Day, and we always are looking forward to sharing our products and services with the international community. E/One also participated at the first Earth Day back in 1970 in New York City, so it's great to be in Washington with Secretary Powell on this historic occasion, 34 years of growth later."

The company's technology is at work worldwide and includes:

  • Products and services for disposal of residential sanitary waste - Environmentally sensitive and economically sensible, E/One Sewer Systems serve residential communities around the world from Stockholm to Sydney. E/One's small-diameter piping under operating pressure allows the sewer network to follow the contour of the land at shallow depth, eliminating massive environmental disruption, while providing an infiltration- and exfiltration-free system at a fraction of the environmental and capital cost of conventional gravity sewers.
  • Systems for the protection and performance optimization of electric utility assets - E/One's Gas StationTM platform provides for maximum running efficiency and minimum downtime from potentially catastrophic, forced outages due to overheating of large electric power generators throughout the industrialized world.

Secretary of State Colin Powell's opening ceremony will begin at 10:00 a.m.; Under Secretary of State for Economic, Business, and Agricultural Affairs Alan Larson and Under Secretary of State for Global Affairs Paula Dobriansky will also participate. E/One people will join other representatives of American corporations, trade associations, and non-profit organizations that apply Earth Day values to their products or services to help communicate the Department's Earth Day message. Members of Congress, resident Ambassadors and Commercial Attaches will also be in attendance.

Environment One Corporation is an operating company of PCC Flow Technologies, Inc., an international provider of fluid handling pumps and industrial valves.
